Menu Intel LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates menuintel.com and provides a B2B SaaS platform for restaurants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our Service (including as a restaurant tenant, waitlist member, or end customer/diner). Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Restaurant Tenant Data: Business name, address, email, phone, Stripe account details (for connection only), custom domain information, menu content, photos, and health grade certifications (NYC requirement).
- End Customer (Diner) Data: Limited to order-related data (e.g., name, email/phone if provided, payment method via Stripe — processed directly by Stripe), and interaction logs.
- Security & Authentication: WebAuthn (passkey/fingerprint) credentials and login metadata (stored securely, never shared).
- Usage & Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device info, pages visited, and analytics (via Cloudflare and internal tools).
- Waitlist & Contact: Email addresses for notifications and support inquiries.
We do not collect sensitive payment card details — all payments are handled securely by Stripe.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (e.g., render menus, process orders, enable custom domains).
- Authenticate and secure your account (via WebAuthn).
- Communicate with you (e.g., onboarding, support, updates).
- Comply with legal obligations (e.g., NYC health regulations, tax reporting).
- Analyze usage to enhance platform performance.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service Providers: Stripe (for payments), Cloudflare (for domain hosting and security), email providers (for notifications), and analytics tools — all under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights/safety.
- Business Transfers: In the event of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption, access controls, and phishing-resistant WebAuthn authentication. However, no system is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Tenant data is retained while your account is active; after termination, we may retain limited data for legal/compliance purposes.
6. Your Rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data by contacting us. For California residents (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights including "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" (we do not sell data). We respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or on the Service.
